University of Pittsburgh Faculty & Staff
Instructors interested can contact us at any time to register a course for proctored examinations. We administer university tests primarily through the CourseWeb/Blackboard Learning Management System, but will deliver exams as written assessments when requested. Note to faculty: we are making an effort to deliver all completed paper exams to you electronically via email. Please see this memo for details. For CourseWeb/Blackboard examinations: Send us a copy of your test(s) with directions as early as possible (by mail, email, or fax) so that we can format the exam and place it into your Courseweb shell. Click here for more information on tests in CourseWeb/Blackboard. For paper-based tests: Email, fax, or campus mail us a copy of the exam along with any examination instructions (time limit, deadline, students who may take the exam, etc.) Please note that all paper exams taken at the testing center will kept in our records for two semesters following the one they are taken in, unless otherwise indicated by the instructor.
The Office of Measurement and Evaluation of Teaching will temporarily relocate to Alumni Hall in mid-July. As a result, classroom exams to be scanned and scored should be dropped off in the Educational Technology Center, located at B-23 Alumni Hall. Exams should be “Scan Ready” at the time of drop-off. Please visit www.omet.pitt.edu to print an Exam Scanning Request Form. For more information, please visit http://omet.pitt.edu/test-scanning-scoring. Feel free to direct any questions to Contact Us at www.omet.pitt.edu.

Students enrolled in the graduate or certificate programs at Pitt Online may be required to complete an examination under proctored supervision. If this is the case, CIDDE Academic Testing Services will contact you before your exam to assist you with locating a proctoring facility that's convenient for you.
Once contacted, we'll work with you to identify a proctoring location. Students living in or around the Pittsburgh area can test at the Testing Center in Oakland. For those living outside of the Pittsburgh region, we encourage you to review our list of pre-approved proctoring sites. There may already be a pre-approved site that's convenient for you. Click here to access the pre-approved list of testing centers.

In the event that none of the pre-approved testing centers are convenient for you, please let us know immediately by email at cidde-testingservices@mail.pitt.edu or by phone at 412-624-7215. We'll search for additional locations that may be convenient for you.
Once a proctoring facility is identified, make a testing appointment for a day and time that suits your schedule. Please note that some instructors allow exams to be taken over a block of days, and some allow only a few hours on a single day. We do ask that you inform testing administration of when your testing session will be, so that we can have technical support available during those hours as backup.
