TA Services:
Who We Are and What We Do
By Marguerite Brown
TA Services

TA Services and CIDDE welcome Cornelie Piok Zanon, our newest TA Consultant. An experienced teaching fellow from the Department of History of Art and Architecture, Zanon brings a wealth of teaching and training know-how to TA Services. She has served HAA as both a teaching assistant and an independent teacher for the last four years. Zanon has taught several classes in the history of architecture, including Ancient Greek and Roman Architecture and Pittsburgh Architecture. She has also been actively involved with updating and extending the successful TA training program in HAA. Zanon joins TA Consultant Marguerite Brown, who will complete her second and final year with TA Services in Summer 2003.

As the unit within CIDDE responsible for university-wide TA training programs, TA Services strives to be the resource of choice for teaching assistants and teaching fellows who want to enhance their teaching performance at the University of Pittsburgh. TA Services presents a New TA Orientation each fall and spring semester, offers a variety of hands-on teaching workshops such as Teaching Techniques Using PowerPoint and Teaching with the Web, provides TAs with the opportunity to be videotaped in the classroom, and offers individual and group consultations on teaching-related issues.

More information on TA Services can be obtained on the CIDDE Website.. TA Services can be contacted by email at tahelp@cidde.pitt.edu and by phone at 412.624.6671.
