Social and Behavior Aspects of Public Health Practice
The purpose of the Social and Behavior Aspects of Public Health Practice:  Planning and Implementation of Distance Learning project is to develop a distance learning format for the core public health course, Social and Behavioral Aspects of Public Health Practice.  The project will provide support to redesign the course components for an online structure including assignments and student evaluation.

Many health professional graduate students face increasing scheduling problems as they attempt to combine classroom instruction with clinical and research responsibilities, according to project director Christine L. Pistella, GSPH/Health Services Administration.  Likewise, the current classroom model limits course enrollment to those students living in the immediate area. Although the course currently uses many of the online communication features offered through CourseInfo, the present structure relies primarily on the traditional face-to-face classroom model.

The development of online instruction for this core course increases the opportunities for students to enroll in a public health course.
