High Resolution Scanning

Photography & Electronic Imaging can provide scanning from a wide variety of original material including flat art up to 11x17 inches as well as film originals such as x-rays sheet film transparencies and any of the roll film sizes. In addition to scanning analog originals, existing digital files can be transferred to a variety of media.

Custom Scanning
Scans can be created to your specific size and resolution and saved in the format of your choice. Common resolutions include; 72,150 or 300 pixels per inch. Commonly chosen formats include TIFF, JPEG and GIF.

Scanned images can be delivered on CDs or DVDs. They can also be deposited in directly in your drop folder or sent as e mail attachments.”

Image Repair
It is often the case that scanned originals, particularly from slides or negatives, exhibit defects such as dust, scratches, tears and color fading. These problems as well as many others can be corrected by digital image manipulation. Please visit that section of our web site for an explanation of services and a set of examples.

Scans to Photo CD
35mm or medium format slides or negatives from your files can be scanned to PHOTOCD.  This is an extremely versatile proprietary format from Eastman Kodak. Please visit out PHOTO CD page for detailed information.

If you have questions regarding  your choices of format or resolution please check the samples on this page or visit our "FAQ". If you have any other question please do not hesitate to call.
