Teaching and Learning Consultants
Teaching and learning consultants can help identify new ways to present course materials.
Our consultants can help you lay the foundations for good teaching.
- Student Assessment - Student evaluation can be challenging. CIDDE can help with test design, informal classroom assessment techniques, student portfolios, and recognizing plagiarism and cheating.
- Class Consultation - Teaching and learning consultants can observe your classrooms or review video tapes of your teaching and provide constructive feedback.
- Course Development - Whether you are developing a new course or revising a long-time favorite, teaching and learning consultants have resources to help you. To CIDDE, course development is an ongoing process to enhance student learning rather than a final product, and we will support you each step of the way.
- Peer Review of Teaching - Peer review is an important source of feedback and support for both new and experienced professors. Using these documents, faculty provide collegial, respectful feedback to one another on their classroom teaching. When combined with other sources of information such as student learning outcomes, Office of Measurement and Evaluation of Teaching (OMET) student feedback, and instructor self-assessment, peer review of teaching can be a valuable form of professional development.
To request support for any of these services contact CIDDE staff at teaching@pitt.edu.
