Consultations
TA/TF Services at the Center for Instructional
Development & Distance Education (CIDDE) provides tailored
support and personal consultations for graduate student instructors
at the University of Pittsburgh.
Video Consultations
Classroom videotaping serves two purposes: it
provides feedback about your teaching at the University of Pittsburgh,
and documents your teaching experience for future employers. CIDDE
provides both videotaping and consultation services for teaching
assistants and teaching fellows. At no cost, graduate student instructors
can arrange to have a videotape of their class made, can view the
tape in our private viewing area, and meet with a TA Consultant
to discuss ways in which to improve their teaching style. All videotape
consultations are private and confidential.
To arrange for a videotaping of your class (and
to set up a consultation), email tahelp@cidde.pitt.edu or
call 412-624-6671. Please provide the following information: three
possible dates for the videotaping, an email address or telephone
number as contact, your name and department, and the location,
room number and time of the class to be videotaped. Also indicate
a range of possible dates when you would like to meet with a TA
Consultant to review your videotape.
Videotape requests will be scheduled and verified
usually within three working days. Requests must be received at
least two weeks in advance of your first choice in order to prioritize
your request.
